Munawarali’s professional background is accounting. He is a CPA (Ontario-Canada) and FCA (England & Wales) and completed a Family Enterprise Advisory Program from the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. He has 25 years’ international consulting and industry experience in Canada, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan & UK. He travelled extensively for work and pleasure, giving him exposure to & appreciation of different cultures and diversity.

Munawarali has undertaken over 100 consulting projects covering financial restructuring of loss-making companies, process improvement, corporate restructuring, buy and sell-side due diligence, advising family owned businesses on governance framework & business continuity risk management, organization structuring, HR policies and procedures, etc. In 2010 he took up a Global Role with KPMG International in Toronto, as Head, Global Advisory Learning & Development (Transactions & Restructuring), driving implementation of Global Advisory L&D Strategy in the Transactions & Restructuring.

In 2015-2107, with a $250 Mn insurance company in Oman, he was driving development of strategy & business plan; assisting an Independent Board Member in identifying roadblocks for implementation of strategy; transformation of finance function resulting in recurring cost savings, automation, and reducing carbon footprint by digitizing documentation. Recently, he has been Advisory Board Member to an SME (in retail), advising on financial & corporate restructuring, cash flow forecasting, and governance. He is an empathetic leader and coaches and mentors his team for performance excellence. He is settled in Canada with his family.
