While with a university background in horticulture and biology, Krzysztof has spent his over 25 years of corporate career on marketing and general management positions in major international corporations active mainly in the medical field. The last 19 years of his career Krzysztof started and managed Olympus company in Poland, profit-wise a medical company, but active as well in consumer products, scientific and industrial fields. During that time, on top of running traditional Olympus divisions, Krzysztof proposed, started and managed two innovative businesses for Olympus, which were test grounds for new business opportunities. Both companies, Endoterapia and Consilio, were providing highly specialised medical services to patients or medical institutions. Endoterapia provided high-end endoscopy intervention therapy to patients in gastroenterology field and was the biggest provider of these services in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe. Consilio was created to shorten the time from tissue biopsy to histopathology diagnosis, which is critical in early start of anticancer therapy. At the moment of de-investing Consilio was contracted by 115 hospitals and clinics in Poland and performing more than 17’000 examination per month. What is more important, Consilio has shorten the standard time of diagnosis on the market from 2-3 weeks to as short as 48 hours. Both companies were highly profitable and on top of that Olympus gained a lot of knowledge to steer its development.

Krzysztof says that a successful and sustainable business must create a real value to the society and, as a prerequisite, should be based on crafted participation of all stakeholders, most importantly employees, in creation and protection of shared values.

Krzysztof is a glider pilot and holder of a gliding IGC Golden Badge with 3 Diamonds. He was one of the main organisers and co-pilot of Sebastian Kawa’s, 15 times world champion in gliding, first in the history, glider expedition to Himalayas. Krzysztof was as well responsible for designing and building a life support system (pressure oxygen system and body high altitude protection system) for an attempt to break Polish high altitude record of glider’s engineless flight of 12560m. The system was built of parts from F-16 and MIG-29 fighter planes and tested successfully up to 13750m, although the record was not beaten due to weather conditions. Currently Krzysztof is concentrated on his guitar building passion, building a prototype of highly engineered new guitar design.
