Chris’s formative years were spent leading a team in the business recovery practice of what is now PwC. In addition to gaining a thorough understanding of operational business issues this experience provided rich learning of working with people through a period of crisis. Developing the skills to connect with people, gain their trust and collaborate to achieve the best possible results in a testing environment provided the bedrock to Chris’s later career as a leadership and change consultant.
He made a career change into learning and development in 1992 and completed post graduate studies in Organisational Behaviour at University of London in 1996. Between 1997 and 2009, Chris worked as an independent consultant with a range of clients spread across the globe on a variety of assignments. These included working with leadership teams to develop and gain alignment around a strategy and / or strengthen the internal relationships; one-to-one coaching of executives and senior leaders and designing and delivering leadership programmes. Clients included ABN Amro, Avon Cosmetics, Bank of England, Capita, Chase Morgan, Microsoft, Oracle and PwC.
Between 2009 and 2013 Chris returned to a full-time role as regional talent management leader and head of executive development in Central & Eastern Europe for a global professional services firm. This region included 29 countries from Czech Republic in the West to Russia and Mongolia in the East. During his time in that role Chris was reacquainted with the reality of life inside a global organisation, exponentially improved his understanding of cultural diversity and developed and implemented an impactful talent management agenda.
Since 2013 he has returned to the role of consultant working in financial services, technology, manufacturing, professional services and the charitable sector. This has included team development with senior leaders, coaching Chief Executives and delivering workshops on strategy and team development.
In 2016 Chris recognised an increasing need for people in organisations to re-connect with their imaginations to expand their capacity to generate unique, viable solutions to increasingly complex opportunities and challenges. He brought together a range of tools and techniques he had practiced over his earlier career to develop a range of interventions around creativity and innovation. These skills are vital in developing entrepreneurship in organisations.
Throughout his career, Chris has been driven by a passion to make a positive lasting difference to individuals, teams and organisations and also brings this passion into being a parent and grandparent. Chris grew up in Barbados in the Caribbean and retains his boyhood love of the ocean, especially through surfing.Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Pinterest
